Jury Scamming

It has been reported that county residents have been receiving phone calls regarding their failure to appear for jury service and a warrant has been issued for their arrest. THIS IS A SCAM. Williamson County District and County Courts as per a longstanding policy will NEVER call an individual and ask for money, gift cards, money orders, etc. for payment to clear the warrant for failure to appear for jury. Please do not send money to these individuals when requested. Contact your local law enforcement agency.

Jury Information

Jurors are randomly selected by the county computer system from a source which combines current Williamson County voter registration list and residents of the county that hold a valid Texas drivers license or a valid personal identification card or certificate issued by the Department of Public Safety. District Clerk Lisa David serves as the jury manager for Williamson County.

Jurors may be selected to serve in the District Courts, County Courts at Law, or in the Justice Courts. For questions about jury service in the Justice Courts, please contact the appropriate court. Common Questions About Jury Duty

Where can jurors park at the Justice Center?

The entrance to the Justice Center is on the north side. Parking is available on the north and south sides of the building. A free parking garage is located at the north end of the Justice Center.

Where do I go for jury duty?

All jurors summoned for County or District Court report to the Justice Center at 405 M.L.K. St., Georgetown, Texas. The Justice Center has a security entrance. 

Jurors summoned for Justice Courts ( JP_ ) should report as directed on their summons.

Who do I contact about a jury excuse?

If you have been summoned for a District Court jury, contact the District Clerk's office. For information regarding a summons from the county court or a justice court, contact the appropriate court.

How will I know if the jury panel has been canceled?

For current information concerning jury service for the District Courts, call (512) 943-1221 for a recorded message.

How long should I plan to be there on the day I am summoned?

Williamson County is governed by the interchangeable jury statute so jurors are called for a general panel. The general panel process may take most of the morning after which time the jurors are assigned to individual courts. The voir dire or questioning of the jury panel in the individual courts may take the remainder of the day.

I am not a resident of the county. What should I do if I am called for jury duty?

Only jurors that are residents of Williamson County should appear. If you have received a summons and are not a resident of the county, circle number 2 under the qualification section of your summons, sign and return to Lisa David, Williamson County District Clerk.
