WCRAS Closed for Thanksgiving, Offers Name Your Price Adoptions Through December 4

The Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter (WCRAS) will be closed on Thursday, November 24, for Thanksgiving and will reopen with normal business hours on November 25, offering Name Your Price adoptions for all medium-to-large adult dogs and adult cats! Small dogs, puppies and kittens are just $75 to adopt. Email adoption@wilco.org to schedule an appointment to meet the pet of your dreams! Walk-ins are also welcome between noon to 6 p.m.

Julie Kiley Appointed Williamson County Auditor

Julie Kiley has been appointed to serve as the Williamson County auditor following the retirement of County Auditor Jerri Jones in December. Under Texas law, the county auditor is appointed by the Williamson County district judges.

New Task Force of County Leaders Launched to Address Housing Affordability and Stability

Williamson County Judge Bill Gravell has been appointed to the National Association of Counties (NACo) Housing Task Force, comprised of over 30 county leaders from across the United States. The group will identify county-led solutions and innovations for addressing America’s housing affordability and stability crisis.

On Tuesday, Nov. 15, the Williamson County’s Commissioners Court recognized Nov. 14 through Nov. 18 as Geography Awareness Week. Additionally, the Commissioners Court proclaimed Wednesday, Nov. 16, as Geographic Information System (GIS) Day in Williamson County.
