The District Clerk’s Office will be closed to the public on Thursday, August 5, and Friday, August 6, due to an office remodel project. All employees of the District Clerk’s Office will be working remotely and will continue to answer phones, process mail, work e-file and all other duties that can be performed remotely. Williamson County JP 3 Earns National Achievement Award for Financial Literacy Program

The Williamson County Justice of the Peace Precinct 3 Financial Literacy Program has been recognized with an Achievement Award from the National Association of Counties (NACo). The awards honor innovative, effective county government programs that strengthen services for residents. NACo recognized the Financial Literacy Program for a 2021 Achievement Award in the category of Criminal Justice and Public Safety. The Financial Literacy Program is a program designed to allow driving offenders – those who received citations for No Driver’s License, Driving While License Invalid and No Insurance – the option to enroll in a financial education class in lieu of paying fines.

Williamson County Observes Pretrial, Probation, and Parole Supervision Week

During the week of July 18th through the 24th, 2021, the State of Texas and Williamson County recognizes the essential responsibilities performed by probation, parole, and community supervision professionals during Pretrial, Probation, and Parole Supervision (PPPS) Week. PPPS week, which is observed annually in July, was signed into proclamation by Texas State Governor Greg Abbott on July 9, 2021. The week serves to recognize the contributions and critical role of pretrial, probation and parole officers nationwide in promoting positive change in their respective communities.

WCRAS asks the public to ‘Lend a Hand’ through adoption and fostering

The Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter (WCRAS) is asking local residents to assist in reducing the shelter’s capacity through adoption and fostering, as it reaches an over-capacity status for cats and dogs alike. Interested adopters can help the shelter make space through adoption, including free adoptions for cats and kittens with an appointment or $5 without an appointment. Additionally, through Sunday, July 25, 2021, medium and large adult dogs are only $5 to adopt with an appointment or $20 without an appointment.

WilCo Moves to WCCHD Red Phase of COVID-19 Transmission

Williamson County has met the criteria to increase to COVID-19 Red Phase. The criteria set by the Williamson County and Cities Health District (WCCHD) was reached on July 17. 
The TSA Region O hospitalization has also increased daily in the past week, which is the second criteria for moving up a phase. Hospitalization rate remains fairly low at 4.65% but has more than doubled in the past fourteen days.
