June is National PTSD Awareness Month

June is National Post Traumatic Stress Disorder Awareness (PTSD) Month. PTSD is a form of anxiety that can be caused after someone experiences extreme trauma, such as being involved in a serious accident, an assault or abuse, a natural disaster, or exposure to combat. The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs states that PTSD is the third most common mental condition among veterans in the Veterans Affairs (V.A.) hospital system.
