County Office Closure Information
Williamson County is taking extra preventative measures to reduce the spread of COVID-19 with the goal of continuing essential county operations. Starting at noon on Thursday, March 19, 2020, Williamson County will close non-essential county offices to the public through Monday, May 11, 2020. Please note, these offices will serve the public and continue county operations by using technology, phones, email, mail, and drop-boxes as needed. Beginning Friday, March 20, 2020, through Monday, May 11, 2020, the Williamson County Justice Center, 405 MLK, Georgetown, will remain open only for required judicial activities. Please see below for individual office or department's specific information on how to conduct business under the new restrictions.

Williamson County & Cities Health District (WCCHD)

These offices will serve the public and continue county operations by using technology, phones, email, mail, and drop-boxes as needed.

County Clerks Office

The Justice Center is open for required judicial activities but we are also open for marriage licenses, certified copies of birth and death, real estate recordings or any Official Public Record recording. Marriage license applications can be completed online by visiting: https://www.wilco.org/County-Clerk. You will need to call for an appointment and we will get you in and out in a matter of a few minutes.

Many Official County records are available for the public online.  If it is not online and you need to look up something that has not been put online yet, we are still open. Please visit online for more information on the County Clerk: https://www.wilco.org/County-Clerk

Road & Bridge, County Engineer, and On-Site Sewage Facility (OSSF)

All County Engineers Office and On-Site Sewage Facility business will continue during the normal business hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. but will be conducted remotely through email and phone until further notice.  In accordance with guidance provided by local, state and national health agencies and officials for mitigating the spread of infection of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19), the Williamson County Department of Infrastructure office located at 3151 SE Inner Loop, Georgetown, TX has been closed to the public. If you call and receive a voicemail prompt, please leave a message. Voicemail will be checked daily.

Please see the instructions below regarding fee payments, application submittals, scheduling meetings and drop box use.

    • All applications will be reviewed for completeness within 10 business days. A response will be sent to the email address provided on the application within the 10 days.

DROP BOX

For any applications, plans or documentation that cannot be submitted electronically, please use the secure drop box located at the front door of the Department of Infrastructure office at 3151 SE Inner Loop, Georgetown, TX.

  • Please do not use the drop box to submit payments or bonds.
  • Ensure that all submittal documents are secured together, preferably within a labeled envelope that fits all documents relative to the submittal.

Signed plats and other documents can also be picked up from the drop box. Those who prefer to have their signed documents mailed back must provide a postage-paid envelope or packaging tube.

Parks

Expo Center:
-    All events canceled at the Expo Center through May 11, 2020.

Southwest Regional:
-    All sports field reservations are canceled through May 11, 2020.
-    All pavilion reservations of groups of 11 or more are canceled through May 11, 2020.
-    Park is otherwise open 7 a.m. - 10 p.m. for regular use.

Champion Park:
-    All pavilion reservations of groups of 11 or more are canceled through May 11, 2020.
-    Park is otherwise open for regular use.

Berry Springs:
-    All pavilion and fire ring reservations of groups of 11 or more are canceled through May 11, 2020.
-    Park is otherwise open 7 a.m. - 10 p.m. for regular use.
-    Overnight camping is still allowed based on availability (8 person limit per campsite)

Adult Probation

Williamson County CSCD is closed to the public and is utilizing telephone communications.  The Central Texas Treatment Center is also closed to all visitors and is no longer accepting new referrals. 

County Addressing and GIS

District Clerks Office

EFFECTIVE 3/26/2020 WILLIAMSON COUNTY DISTRICT CLERK’S OFFICE IS CLOSED TO IN PERSON SERVICES

Due to the ongoing concerns regarding COVID-19 (Coronavirus), the Williamson County District Clerk’s office has implemented a few changes effective immediately. It is our hope and plan to remain open to continue to serve the citizens of Williamson County; however, the health of the employees and their families is certainly a priority of mine. It is my goal to eliminate as much public contact and traffic in and out of our office as possible. Therefore, I am asking each of you to comply with the following temporary guidelines:

Emergency matters requiring in-person service will require an appointment. This policy is effective until the expiration of termination of the Texas Supreme Court’s emergency order unless otherwise indicated by the district clerk’s office.

Civil & Family Filings

In person service in the District Clerk’s office has been suspended for the duration of the emergency. Self-represented litigants (“pro se”) should file their pleadings and petitions by mail to the address below, or may do so electronically through eFile Texas:

Self-represented litigants who require additional assistance or wish to make an appointment will need to call the district clerk’s office @ 512/943-1212.

Self-represented litigants are strongly encouraged to file pleadings electronically, which is easy to do and free to the public using the state portal at https://efile.txcourts.gov/ofsweb

Litigants filing EMERGENCY MATTERS ONLY will be permitted to file in person, will need to call 512/943-1212 to make an appointment first. The following emergency and urgent matters are included:

  • Deb/Sequestration Petition (Sequestration Bond)

For civil process (citations), current documents scheduled for pickup have been mailed to the person who requested the process. All future issuance will be mailed or emailed only. Civil Relating to Criminal Matters

For general inquiries regarding expunction files including verification of service, attorneys will need to email dcexpunctions@wilco.org. Your email must include the cause number and the full name of the applicant.

Appeals

ALL inquiries regarding appeals should be directed to dcappeals@wilco.org or call 512/943-1212.

Criminal Collections

Defendants who are required to make payment arrangements to satisfy a judgment on a conviction should contact the district clerk’s office @ 512/943-1212 during normal business hours.

Records Requests

The district clerk’s records / research section will be closed to the public. All requests for civil, family, juvenile and criminal records will be handled electronically. You may submit your request through dcrecord@wilco.org and your copies will be transmitted to you via email.

All requests for juvenile records can be made by submitting a request through dcrecord@wilco.org. Please ensure the cause number, party to the case, copy of Picture ID and document request is included in the email.

All Fillings in Sealed Cases

All filings in sealed cases should be mailed to the district clerk’s office.

The District Clerk’s staff continues to process eFile, mail and answering phones during normal business hours.
