WilCo EMS Hosts American Heart Association Classes

Williamson County EMS is pleased to announce the offering of American Heart Association classes including Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider class, a First Aid Class, and Heartsaver CPR AED Class on Saturday, June 22. These are separate classes, but First Aid and Heartsaver CPR AED can be registered together for a discount. To register for these classes, view the class times and locations, and cost for each class, visit the American Heart Association website.

The office of Justice of the Peace Precinct 4, 211 W. 6th Street in Taylor, will be closed July 3 to 5, 2019, for the Independence Day holiday. The public may mail any correspondence or use the drop box located at the northeast corner facing 6th Street. Citation due dates during this time will be extended to July 8, 2019 by 5:00 p.m. Normal business hours will resume on Monday, July 8, 2019. Normal hours are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The office is closed to the public on Wednesdays. They apologize for any inconvenience this may cause their customers and wish everyone a fun and safe Fourth of July!

JP 3 and Schulman Theaters Present Free Showings of Courageous June 16 & 17

This Father’s Day, Justice of the Peace Evelyn McLean and Schulman Theaters are teaming up to give families a special present. Schulman Theaters will be offering free showings of the movie Courageous, a movie that focuses on the importance of the relationship between fathers and their children. Schulman’s City Lights Theater on Wolf Ranch Parkway in Georgetown will show the movie on Sunday, June 16 at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. and on Monday, June 17 at 7 p.m. The FREE tickets are available for pick up at the Justice of the Peace Precinct 3 Office in the Williamson County Georgetown Annex, 100 Wilco Way, in Georgetown.

The Quarry Splash Pad at Southwest Regional Park in Cedar Park is opening for the season! On May 18, the Quarry Splash Pad will officially be open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. every day for the rest of the summer! Grand reopening of Williams Drive businesses Postponed to June 1

The grand reopening for businesses along Williams Drive has been moved to June 1 due to the forecast for rain this Saturday. The event will be from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 1. The party will be held in the parking lot of Lone Star Circle of Care located at 2425 Williams Drive.The event is a celebration of the businesses affected by the recent evacuations in and around the intersection of Williams Drive and River Bend in Georgetown. The community is invited to attend this free, family-friendly event to support local businesses as they reopen. The Georgetown Chamber of Commerce is coordinating the event, with assistance from the City of Georgetown and Williamson County. The event is sponsored by Atmos Energy. 2018 Tax Rate

WILLIAMSON COUNTY ADOPTED A TAX RATE THAT WILL RAISE MORE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS THAN LAST YEAR'S TAX RATE. THE TAX RATE WILL EFFECTIVELY BE RAISED BY 1.72 PERCENT AND WILL RAISE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS ON A $100,000 HOME BY APPROXIMATELY $4.25.
