County Offices Close for Move to New Georgetown Annex Building

Several county offices are preparing to move into new space as the county puts the finishing touches on its new 60,000 square foot, two-story annex located at 100 Wilco Way in Georgetown. The new building, referred to as the Georgetown Annex, will include offices for the Precinct 3 Commissioner, Constable, and Justice of the Peace, as well as Purchasing, Human Resources, Veterans Services, and Texas A&M AgriLife Extension. In addition, it will have a Justice of the Peace Courtroom, multiple meeting and conference rooms, and a training/teaching space for AgriLife Extension. Click this story for the moving and closure schedule.

County Offices Closed Jan. 21 for MLK Day

All Williamson County offices will be closed on Monday, January 21, 2019, in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. County operations will resume regular hours on Tuesday, January 22, 2019, and Commissioners Court will be held at its regular time beginning at 9:30 a.m. The Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter, 1855 S.E. Inner Loop, Georgetown, will be open regular business hours on Monday, January 21, from noon to 6 p.m.

County Celebrates the Addition of RV Sites at the Expo Center

Williamson County celebrated the addition of 51 new recreation vehicle parking sites at the county’s Expo Center today with a ribbon cutting ceremony. Water and electricity connections are provided at each site, with 23 of the sites also having wastewater connections. The new sites will be available to rent at a daily rate and can be used during events at the Expo Center. Please refer to the Williamson County Expo website for information on reservations. The Williamson County Expo Center is located at 5350 Bill Pickett Trail, in Taylor, Texas.

County Breaks Ground on Fifth County Park

Williamson County celebrated the start of construction of River Ranch County Park, the county’s fifth county park, with a groundbreaking ceremony on December 10, 2018. River Ranch County Park Is located in western Williamson County between Liberty Hill and Leander. The park is comprised of more than 1,000 acres of meadowlands, woodlands, hills and escarpments providing hill country vista’s between Leander and Liberty Hill.  The South Fork of the San Gabriel River meanders through the northeastern portion of the park.

2018 Tax Rate

WILLIAMSON COUNTY ADOPTED A TAX RATE THAT WILL RAISE MORE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS THAN LAST YEAR'S TAX RATE. THE TAX RATE WILL EFFECTIVELY BE RAISED BY 1.72 PERCENT AND WILL RAISE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS ON A $100,000 HOME BY APPROXIMATELY $4.25.
