"Leave No Trace for Williamson County Preserves" Training Offered April 25

The Williamson County Conservation Foundation is offering another “Leave No Trace for Williamson County Preserves” training for people who want to access County preserve areas.  The next class will be held on Thursday, April 25, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. (sign-in begins at 6:00 p.m.) at the Williamson County Georgetown Annex, 100 Wilco Way, Georgetown, Texas 78626. The training will be held in the Human Resources Training Room. Please drive around to the northwest corner of the building to access through the Training Room door. To reserve a spot in the class, send an email to wccf@wilco.org and include "LNT" in the subject line. Include your name and the number of persons accompanying you. Because of classroom size, the class is limited to the first 40 people who register.

Williamson County, the City of Cedar Park and Waste Management are hosting a Household Hazardous Waste Cleanup event on Saturday, April 27, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Gupton Stadium parking lot at the corner of E. Park Street and Gupton Way in Cedar Park. The event is free to Williamson County and Cedar Park residents. To learn what to bring or not to bring, click here.

Late on Wednesday, Feb. 20, Atmos Energy arrived on scene at 507 River Bend in Georgetown to repair an underground natural gas leak. The Georgetown Fire Department and Atmos Energy issued a precautionary evacuation of several residences and businesses in the River Bend area as a result of the initial leak - which was repaired. Atmos Energy has created a website with information regarding the Georgetown repairs here. The Georgetown Chamber of Commerce created a web page to update the community on business temporary locations or closures. Check here for updated news and information on affected businesses.

Commissioners Court Meetings Available LIVE

The Williamson County Commissioners Court is pleased to be able to provide live streaming of its weekly meetings on Tuesdays at 9:30 a.m. through the county website. The Court approved providing the live feed to its residents at their meeting on Tuesday, February 5, 2019. The first meeting to offer the live feed will be Tuesday, February 12, 2019. Video recordings of the Commissioners Court meetings are available each week, so adding the live feed did not incur any additional cost. Copies of the agenda for the upcoming meeting can be found here

2018 Tax Rate

WILLIAMSON COUNTY ADOPTED A TAX RATE THAT WILL RAISE MORE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS THAN LAST YEAR'S TAX RATE. THE TAX RATE WILL EFFECTIVELY BE RAISED BY 1.72 PERCENT AND WILL RAISE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS ON A $100,000 HOME BY APPROXIMATELY $4.25.
