Will Ward was appointed County Court at Law #5 judge on August 30, 2022 and took his oath of office on October 3rd. County Court at Law #5 was approved during the 2021 legislative session and became effective October 1st, 2022.
Prior to his appointment, Judge Ward served as a Williamson County Assistant District Attorney for six years and a Brazos County Assistant District Attorney for four years. He attended Texas Tech School of Law on the Post-9/11 GI Bill after ten years of service as a combat engineer officer in the United States Marine Corps. Judge Ward is a 1996 high school graduate of Mineral Wells, Texas and a 2000 graduate of the Virginia Military Institute. He lives in Georgetown with his wife, Amberly, and loyal attack-dog, Scout.
