On-Site Sewage Facility & Round Rock Retail Food Offices Relocating
Effective October 2, 2017, the On-Site Sewage Facility (OSSF) Program operated by the Williamson County and Cities Health District (WCCHD) will become part of the Williamson County Engineer/Road and Bridge Division. The OSSF offices will be closed on Friday, September 29, and Monday, October 2, in order to relocate to the Williamson County Central Maintenance Facility, 3151 S.E. Inner Loop, Georgetown, Texas. The OSSF office will open at their new location on Tuesday, October 3, 2017. The WCCHD Round Rock Retail Food Office also is relocating in October. The Round Rock location will be combining with the existing Environmental Health Georgetown location effective October 9, 2017.

WilCO Launches New App for Preparedness Month
The Williamson County Commissioners Court proclaimed September as National Preparedness Month. Texas has more natural disasters than any other state, recording 26 major disasters since the year 2000. To help residents create plans for emergencies, the Williamson County Office of Emergency Management launched a new mobile app called WILCO Ready. WILCO Ready is a comprehensive mobile application designed specifically to aid in personal and family planning, emergency communications planning, emergency status sharing, local disaster mapping, and provide updated information provided during emergencies. WILCO Ready is available as a free download for Android and Apple devices from the app store.

County Wins Award for Expo Center Grand Opening Brochure
The Williamson County Public Information Office was a recipient of the National Association of County Information Officers (NACIO) Awards of Excellence for the Williamson County Expo Center Grand Opening Brochure. The NACIO Awards of Excellence recognizes and awards outstanding public relations and public information work being done by counties throughout the nation. The multi-page booklet received the Superior Award which indicated exceptional work among peers.

WilCo Adopts FY 17-18 and Sets Tax Rate
The Williamson County Commissioners Court adopted their General Fund budget for FY 2017-2018 of $191,598,091, a 6.5 percent increase over last year’s adopted budget of $179,871,807. The Commissioners Court also set the tax rate for 2017. The Commissioners Court reduced the General Fund tax rate by one cent to $.259029 per $100 valuation.
