Champion Park is a unique playground for kids to have fun and make new discoveries. The park has an inland sea theme that features a covered children’s dinosaur dig area with concrete casts of dinosaur bones hidden beneath sand for children to uncover. A large blue whale spurts water to cool kids off on hot days, and specially designed boulders allow for climbing.
Parents will appreciate the two large picnic pavilions that can be rented separately or together, each with a built-in grill. There is a fishing area and scenic bridge across Brushy Creek connecting the park to the Avery Ranch subdivision. Restrooms and parking are available.
Champion Park is named after the Champion family that once lived on the land. A family cemetery is located near the park. The 33-acre park sits along the Brushy Creek Regional Trail. It was built with park bonds approved by voters in 2000.
